We are living in a storm of change. We experienced the Computer in the 1980s, the IoT at the beginning of the new century, the Steve Jobs Innovation program, the change towards e-mobility and today AI, robotics and self-driving cars.

 

Logistics, understood as a Global, integrated end2end Customer Supply Chain science, developed and supported many of above initiatives. Till today logistics in Germany, Europe and the World is a leading science to improve service, availability and growth for humanity. But  every science has its historical development cycles and unsolved issues, riddles and secrets (just remember Albert Einstein and the discussion of relativity versus quantum theory). Today logistics, in a stronger silo-definition, focusing on transportation in Global supply chains, networks and regional and local services has its open unsolved issues, riddles and secrets:

 Unsolved issues:

Logistics today can cope with global supply chains of air, sea and road freight but is not able o solve the local last mile. Traffic jams, long unproductive waiting and sitting times as well as bad or inefficient services are the reality of every-day life and business.

Riddles:

Although transport relates to all movements of people, goods or information the logistics industry is a hero in transportation of goods. Complete, integrated and efficient transportation management for people, goods and information is a myth, there are hundreds of parallel networks in a local of regional area, anywhere in the world. Especially the gap between information flow and multiple physical transports is substantial, often described as the freedom of individuality, which would never contradict a Global -efficient- logistics idea. Efficient networks need Global logistics excellence. Logistics missed out on this in the last 50 years.

Secrets:             

The solution to rebuild the logistics from an integrated, efficient regional and local service excellence perspective is the core secret to improve business and life of humanity in the 21st century, the secret to build a new integrated logistics for all flows can be summarized in building a new mobility logistics.

Logistics companies can lead this process of change by creating a new MOBILITY-logistics. Logistics companies can start a DIGITAL Transformation program to become a true SUPER MOBILITYY POWER, changing logistics towards a new improvement level for humanity.

 

How does the mobility logistics look like?

Here there needs to be an understanding, that all changes are smooth in process (year after year) and disruptive in the consequence: Today the I-Phone or its copies have a monopoly in mobile communication and commerce, because a screen with fully integrated app display beats any other communication device. Mobility logistics needs to do the same:

 

Mobility logistics needs to cover all mobility logistics requirements for people, goods and information in a current infrastructure, with current technologies, with current IoT solutions and IT-Services.

 

Similar as the IoT we need to create a MoT, a Mobility of Things, which creates a Quantum Leap in the current, inefficient mobility. For reaching out for better mobility you need to start with markets and customers. Markets are the regions or local areas for a group of human citizens, we call it MOBILITY-area. Customers are all movements in this MOBILITY-area. Today we can structure customer services in:

  1. C2C-Moblity services (Consumer to Consumer)
  2. C2B-Mobility services (Consumer to business)
  3. B2C-Mobility services (Business to Consumer)
  4. B2B-Mobility Services (Business to Business)

Today there is a clear split between guided (or controlled) mobility logistics and unguided (individualized) mobility.

 

Unguided mobility

C2C-Mobility services are today completely unguided, we all start using a car or other transportation systems on demand, by coincidence and without evaluation costs. This is especially also true for C2B-Mobility services, where we create huge additional traffic due to inefficient transportation to shops, work or other activities (f. e. dining, sports, vacation). Due to unguided mobility we loose time, efficiency, live costly and are exploiting industrialized zones and countries or densely populated regions in a extremely polluted un-sustainable way. We are creating a human waste factor, which is destroying our habitats, local and regional areas, our earth in an extremely unprofessional, non -intelligent way. It is not a Homo Sapiens at work, but the individualistic animal, who wants to enjoy speed, luxury and freedom of choice without control.

 

The unguided mobility creates inhuman, global destruction which multiplies, if all regions in the world are developing to western standards. Vice versa western industrialized nations are creating this destruction with intent, if the question of a new mobility approach is not put forward in change and transformation in and driven by the IoT, changing towards MoT.

 

Guided mobility

B2C- and B2B-mobility are on the other side guided, controlled mobility services, where logistics and E-Commerce companies are optimizing their network in customer service (on time, to date, returns, right quality) and costs. Guided can be expressed, identified by integrated TMS- (Transport Management Systems), Standard delivery fleets, Standard Packaging solutions and complete IT-Visibility by end2end tracking and tracing of customer- or business-orders.

 

Still guided mobility services are at the edge of further improvement, as the regional or local area is continuously influenced or swamped by unguided mobility services, which lead to inefficiencies in B2C- and B2B-Services. Additionally it creates the specialized guided mobility service a technology, which sub-optimizes its span of control, which can be seen in the technology development of trucks, the paper-based packaging industry and the Global-Supply Chain idea to create long logistics chains because of low cost production.

 

So further optimization reaches its end in current silo developments. The mobility approach we have built in the last 100 years reaches its end due to silo management and a missing global, cross-business approach for a new Super-mobility.

 

How to define Super-Mobility (and in transfer for logistics industries)?

Super-Mobility describes the need to improve the current mobility in a local or regional (potentially global) area for people, business and humanity. Super-Mobility is the science how to plan, control and manage all C2C-, C2B-, B2C and B2B services in a local area or region.

 

Super Mobility Powers are companies or groups of people (organizations), which target to improve the planning, control and management of all C2C-, C2B-, B2C and B2B services in a local or regional area (Picture 2).

Human control and freedom need to be redefined, needs further super human evaluation of improvement.

The human Digital and Physical Network is congested with overloads of technological, unutilized or inefficient cathedrals and Data-Garbage due to Spam and Fae-News.

 

Both needs correction. The physical infrastructure in cars, Global supply chains and fossil energy technologies need a redesign and rebuild, if we want to keep earth as a living planet. The Global data monopolies can be used by few and are not in service for many.

 

The answer to improve both lies in a new definition of mobility to grow humanity. Super Mobility needs to link the need to go mobile, physically or in the IoT, by efficient, optimized resources to service humanity better and sustainable long lasting.

 

Super Mobility can derive from Tech companies, auto- logistics- or retail-giants or by human capitalistic socialism itself (Picture 1). 

 

Super Mobility (Definition Picture 2) means to build new physical service systems which are fully utilized for each customer and service optimized for everybody. Super Mobility does not mean to create a huge inefficient output of new car production, which are utilized 5%. Super mobility does not mean to create endless logistics hubs and infinite parcel deliveries over the planet. Super Mobility does not mean to create endless malls or stores to sell what has been produced cheap somewhere else

 

New physical service systems can be created with integrating the Data Control, where individual human needs are combined with human network needs. Both in conclusion will lead to disruptive new services of all current and new auto solutions (cars, bikes, warehouses, retail stores) for B2B, B2c and C2C business solutions which will disrupt our current inefficient micro and macro mobility environment. It will change the Retail Logistics -Tech world.

 

We will create new SUPER MOBILITY POWERS. Super Mobility powers need to be controlled by humanity, so the leaders of the world in business and politics need to set the milestones for Human control and development of SUPER MOBILITY POWERS. This will lead to a new disruptive level of improvements.

All indicators show that the success path of the Innovators is continuing and Retail, Automotive and Logistics Industry Sectors will be slaughtered, rebuilt, reinvented by those who are not depending on old fashioned thinking and business processes.

The retailer in bricks and mortar wants to get customers into his store, even with online sales. He has a long term, old fashioned alliance with the auto industry, that each car drives un-utilized with 100-400 % additional capacity to the store to shop, showing is brand new car, with beautiful features and horse powers. The retailer has a long term, old fashioned alliance with logistics and global supply chain manfacturers that every store is filled from cheap global supply chain origins, with lowest costs and nice branding of often unhealthy products like Nutella or Kellogg's. Logistics has a long term alliance with current online stores to ship millions of cartons to millions of customers from central warehouses, repacking products and shipments multiple times.

Nobody in these 3 industries wants Local or Regional Mobility Solutions in Mobile Commerce as everybody will loose heavily in a New market approach based on its old fashioned business strategies and market shares.

The DISRUPTOR attack  (maybe "raptor"-attack) starts with technology innovation: the Electric Car is used in a step by step approach by innovative disruptors to prove the change and readiness in a new Mobility driven Mobile Commerce world. Nobody believes that the small and beautiful start ups like Tesla or NIO (small is relative) will change or beat the auto giants with better mass car production. With the "New Hope" of Global change agents, disrupters.... they will change the Mobility Systems of today with new E-Car solutions, outperforming, disrupting the traditional industries and: change the retail - logistics - Manufacturing - Automotive old fashioned world.

 

The electric car is ready to compete with the old benzine or diesel technology, maybe loosing in reach and with "still" difficulties in battery performance. But the electric car will win with breaking the monopoly of retail, car and logistics mass production based on multiple wave disruptions, changing a car to an E-AUTO mobility product, a new Solution = Product, which we urgently need, humanity was not able to create in the past and maybe the monopolists try to cut out for decades (originally starting in the carbon fossile industry conglomerates).

 

The E-Auto Mobility product will change retailing, car manufacturing and logistics. It will be a Key Enabler to foster Omni Channel Solutions, offer creative individualized service, gain time for everybody for 2-4 hours per day, build safer and more beautiful infrastructure and help the environment on earth to redesign our world.

 

The E-Auto Mobility product (EAMP) will most probably grow fastest in India and China. It will change most probable the industrialization of the world, moving economies even more from West to East.

Still each industry sector tries to prevail in historical achievements and its competencies and monopolistic market domination strategies. Retail in bricks & and mortar is already falling, prevailers are loosing daily, trying to catch up with outdated digital strategies, defending their kingdoms of customers and market shares. But they are set to loose as the Mobile Commerce requires a disruptive innovation approach, which most companies are not ready and not able to take.

Amazon and the Tech market leaders are  gaining daily ground on old fashioned retail. Their radical customer centric mobile Commerce approach outpaces in speed, customer intimacy, availability and assortment of the retailer, who hopes that with good marketing and advertising, reputation and store service people will come to the store and will honor fidelity and buy where they where able to touch the products for 20 years. Disruptive innovation: Mobile commerce introduction

Many retailers believe that the internet has already changed a lot. This is right, but the impact will multiply by the combination of new advanced technology and high-performance data network availability. Ten years ago, the PC market was in its hip-phase, now even laptops are less popular than tablets and smart phones. Associated with global data network availability you can do online product searches and sales 24 hours 7 days a week unlimited. Business hours, opening times, and national and geographic structures are unimportant or step by step fade into the background.

The product range of the retailer or brand manufacturer is documented in the “mobile device”, pricing comparisons can be pre-done without a shop visit, and buying decisions are often based on availability, speed, accuracy in delivery, and performance of service and added values. Probably the most underestimated process is the customer care support. In a stationary offline retail store, shop assistants offer standard customer service (maybe less depending on the type of retailer, but even at discount stores). The potentials of online support during the customers' buying process or decentralized service options are still not understood, let alone implemented.

 

With mobile commerce (shopping using mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets) the changes for digital buyers are many times more radical, faster, and bigger in its impact. Shops that were visited frequently before mobile commerce are empty or are overcrowded during peak periods. Event and discount marketing take a far higher percentage in market shares. The retailer without mobile commerce is becoming a “no name” in the customer relationship in the social networks or potentially far worse in the buying decision process.
